Seems some are slow to commit themselves.

I wonder why?
Yes.
yes and britain should follow suit
Yes and we should be following on, can't see the sense in sending money to them to spend on arms, or corrupt officials.
They are justified, because the claim that the Pakistanis do nottake terrorism seriously can be substantiated. The Pakistani military is packed with Taleban and al Qaeda sympathisers. Pakistan was given ‘aid’ from Saudi Arabia 30-40 years ago to build schools. Unfortunately that meant that the last two generations have been indoctrinated in extreme Islamic fundamentalism, which means Pakistan today is full of dangerous people, many in military and security positions.

But it might be an instance of chopping off its nose to spite its face. The US will save a little bit of money, but it will lose everything as far as the fight on terrorism in the region.

And calling National Security Assistance ‘Aid’ is stretching the euphemism. It aids no one in Pakistan, it was an insurance policy for the US which they have decided that the premium is now too high.
Absolutely

And that has nothing to do with terrorism the country (pakistan)can afford Nuclear weapons so why do they need aid?
Ymb,
It isn’t really aid though.

It was the US paying for security measures, not to protect Pakistanis, but to protect America.
They have concluded they are wasting their money, and they are probably right.

But aid it wasn’t.
Yes totally
Definitely !
i wonder what would happen if we stopped aid to pakistan, would britains pakistani community be up in arms, protests etc, oh i forgot..
reading last year we gave them debit cards for free cash..the locals that is...free money, or our taxes.
Have you got a link to that Fender?
// reading last year we gave [Britain's Pakistani community] debit cards for free money //

That is a disgrace, the Conservative Government are an absolute shambles. The Home Secretary should be sakd immediately.
Whatever Trump does must be right.

He's a real stable genius.
Yes, so should we. Of course we won't, we're too stupid and cowardly.
david small,
Why are you so anti-British ?
//No matter what the Islamists' current status or situation, they would lash out at the US, the West and Americans. Meanwhile, American taxpayers were providing hundreds of thousands of dollars to them in scholarships, free accommodation, and often even a monthly stipend. By comparison, many American students struggle to pay their own tuition and housing; many graduate with debt.
Some believed that the US was simply supposed to do these favors for them for free of charge. Others argued that this was an opportunity to take advantage of America, and should be done for the sake of furthering Islamic political and religious views.
The US has been funding the lives of these extremists as they endanger our country and the lives of all Americans, and spread hatred towards America, Christianity, Judaism and the West. Is this how American taxpayers want their hard-earned contributions to be used?//

Agree with David Small. He is not being anti British, just telling the truth.
We WON'T do anything as we are too scared of retaliation.
His justification for doing so is debatable, but Pakistan does not portray an image of a country that needs aid. As YMB mentions, they are rich enough to join the Nuclear Club, so must have enough to sort any social ills out. Whatever to handouts were for, they wouldn't qualify as aid anyway.
