hahaha! Excellent!
You spotted my 'deliberate mistake' of the day (>Shame-faced
ichi; //Macron has a very specific vision for the EU and it’s to hoped that vision prevails.//

Could you please say what you think that 'vision' is, and why you want it to prevail ?
Kidas Hi Talbot

yes, I did listen to what Macron said on Trump.

If only more of our politicians would listen to Macron's words on Trump and be as pragmatic.
His vision Khandro as outlined in the interview: more sovereignty, more unity, more democracy (less bureaucracy)
ichi; // [Macron wants] .... more sovereignty, more unity, more democracy (less bureaucracy)//

He sounds like Nigel Farage. If you want those policies to prevail in France, why do you not want them in the UK, why are you a remainer?
He wants those policies to prevail in the EU.
More sovereignty for the EU !!! Ha Ha.
How does that work?
Maybe your mate Morrissey knows.
He means more sovereignty fit individual countries in the EU.
I’m resisting the temptation to tell you to watch the interview for yourself
Aaah, go on Ich. Khandro is the first to complain when he posts a vid link from one of his alt-right news sources and we don’t watch them.
Well yes I know: that was why I mentioned it :-)
He is an impressive figure Macron. Even John McDonnell seemed slightly in awe of him.
One of the reasons I thought Macron came across well is that he made some relevant, interesting, insightful comments - at least when Marr was not interrupting him. I wanted to (did actually) yell at the screen, 'shut up, Marr', because Macron was saying something helpful, but Marr closed him down.

The difference (IMHO) is that UK politicians are too afraid of the Mail or Sun taking umbrage at what they say. So their media advisors recommend waffling about Party politics, or some obscure but irrelevant factoid, and so the Interviewer interrupts and we get into a ridiculous non-interview.

Macron engaged with Marr; he answered the questions; he set out his points and I felt I learned something from the discussion.

It is so rare to have that feeling after an interview with a UK politician. I get the feeling it is all about scoring cheap points against the other party.

Yes it was fascinating to see Marr really listening closely to M Macron.
One of the most interesting things Macron pointed out was that, actually, the free market values of the EU were actually championed by the UK government at the time, to the dismay of the French in particular. The French opposition to aspects of the EU had always been based on the fact that they think it is not regulated enough. The lack of regulation led ironically to some of the issues which caused the Brexit vote

I've watched it (it's on youtube) and he comes over as yet another two-faced, smooth talking, French, short- ar s *d power mad, self-serving, third rater. Talking of sovereignty ichi, - which you seem to treat lightly- how much previous investment in Britain do you and your family have? I've traced my family and its sacrifices back as far as 1800, where are you and yours from?

I particularly like;
“Rejection is one thing - but rejection from a fool is cruel.”

I understand a bit of teasing, joshing, the occasional spat and even genuine animus when two people who disagree on a topic are "debating" on social media.

What I don't understand is why some people seem to enjoy being gratuitously nasty.

Can you help explain that to me, Zac's Master?

Unbelievable. I considered reporting your post but thought better of it.
ichi; The reason I am so concerned about British sovereignty is that just before she died, my mother gave me all the medals won by members of my family stretching back a long way in time, some for distinguished service and representing, sweat, and not an inconsiderable amount of blood, last year, I passed them on to my grandson.
As in your posts you seem to show little regard for the subject, it seems reasonable to ask why.
Let us just draw a veil over it shall we and stick to the arguments.
You were starting to sound like someone from 30s Nazi Germany and I am sure you did not mean to.
