The carer quite rightly lost her job, but I am unsure why the Police didn't pursue a charge of assault, as its quite clear to me that it was indeed an attack on a vulnerable woman.

Mamya.......I think you would keep your cool....no matter how much you wanted to knock the daylights out of the carer......because when it's your mother sitting there you do what's best for her....x
First offence....nothing is done.

Appalling woman.

I like to think I'd have kept calm in similar circumstances, but couldn't swear to it here & now.
I think you're right Gness, I may well have been calm on the face of it - I once had to bite my tongue almost straight through until I got a Paramedic with a stinking attitude out of earshot of my dying husband.
She should have been tried according to the rules

Common Assault

Under section 39 of the Criminal Justice Act, a common assault occurs when an individual assaults or commits a battery against another person. A battery refers to the use of unlawful force, including pushing, slapping or spitting on another person. An assault refers to when one person makes another feel threatened of an immediate force being made against them. Examples of this type of action include raised fists or gestures suggesting physical harm is imminent such as running fingers across the throat. It is not necessary for physical contact to take place in order for a person to be guilty of common assault.

The maximum sentence that can be given for a conviction of common assault is 6 months imprisonment. An alternative option to a prison sentence is the imposing of a community order, a fine or both.
The carer's face has now been blanked out of the video. Last night, when I watched it, it showed her face.
The daughter was protecting her Mum when she remained calm and cool as I think I would, but I would have followed the evil witch outside and pummelled her and taken the consequences.
