Potential anybody can earn enough to pay tax, although for most 16 year old people, wages won't be large enough. But the principle stay the same.
It was one of the reasons given for women bot to have the vote, over 100 years ago !
DD....I appreciate your point, but even people on benefits may potentially pay some tax. What would you do with a person who is in and out of work, and thus in and out of the benefit system ?
But it isn't just the paying of tax that counts in this debate. Decisions taken today, in all walks of political life, will impact on 16 and 17 year olds, so why shouldn't they have a vote ?
