Jon Venables Jailed For Possessing Over 1,000 Abuse Images
The mother of murdered toddler James Bulger has accused the authorities of "colluding" to cover up his killer's behaviour and has branded his 40 months sentence ‘a farce’. There are also calls for his anonymity to be lifted before he strikes again. This is the second time since his initial release he’s been jailed for possessing such images, described by the judge as "vile" and "heartbreaking", so the question is are we too lenient on people like him and does there come a time when we should decide to throw away the key?

John Venables is beyond the reach of rehabilitation and always was and yet it's Denise Fergus and Ralph Bulger living the life sentences.
How do they go on after what Venables and Thompson did to their little boy? I couldn't... I would have taken my own life.

I am finding it hard to believe that some on here seem to think a ten year old's brain is fully developed.

Ummmm, I don’t think it is just about whether they knew murder was wrong, children much younger than they were would know murder is wrong, and children as young as two know right from wrong. To me it is about whether they understood the gravity of that wrong and understood the consequences of their actions, on others and on themselves. As I said in an earlier post, I honestly don’t know, but everything I have seen and read seems to imply that they knew they had done wrong, but didn’t really realise just how wrong.
