Why does it not occur to genius Trump that no matter how mad a person is if he cannot acquire a weapon then he cannot shoot anyone? Of course Trump is backed and subsidised by the NRA.

Perhaps because he is not knee-jerking and realizes that 400million guns cannot be removed.

In addition perhaps he also realizes that is someone is hell bent on mass murder then if the gun is removed than there are bombs or trucks?

Cruz obtained the AR-15 assault rifle legally, and the FBI were warned about his intentions. How did anyone this unhinged obtain any gun legally, let alone an assault weapon ?

TTT....America had a successful anti-drugs campaign a few years ago, led by Nancy Reagan, called "Just Say No"

Perhaps that needs to be resurrected, but this time applying to the NRA, when they offer (mostly) Republican candidates vast sums of money for their Election campaigns ?

The reason that the gun lobby is so successful in America isn't just because they have vast sums of money to give away.....its also because there are plenty of politicians greedy and stupid enough to want to get their hands on the blood-stained lucre.

Trump's Predecessor at least made a positive attempt to start to try and do something about the problem

Trump appears to be in the pockets of the NRA and sees it as only a mental problem

As long as the Gun lobby has so much influence with a certain wing of US politicians , then nothing is going to change

If the instances of kids being massacred does not move them to do anything then nothing will

We will wait for the next one - they will make their usual statements of indignation

Alas Baz, you are probably correct....I expect we will all be debating the next serious gun massacre very soon.

But the American people could do something about this if they really wanted to....for a start, they could stop supporting and voting for candidates that receive funds from the NRA....it would be a start at least.

I don't think it as anything to do with the easy accessibility of guns.

There will always be nutters (of which the US seems to have more of their fair share) and if they can't get their hands on a gun, they will carry out their killings in other ways.
