Here's another example of what a wassock Trump is....he used to be against the ownership of assault weapons, but now he advocates the carrying of weapons into night clubs by everybody. Hundreds of people have been injured or killed recently in America, but he still wants to hang on to that lovely dosh that the NRA gives him and other Republicans, rather than actually do something useful.

Let ABs Trumpettes defend him now.

//I will admit it will take time to roll back so much legislation in America. //

400 million guns estimated in the USA. They will never disappear.

//But Trump is doing nothing useful and will continue to do nothing.//

What did Obama do then, these shootings are nothign new? And what exactly do you expect him to do? It might be surprising to you but he has to favor the US voters not you and they even include the liberals and lefties who also have guns.

It's nothing to do with defending TRump more understanding that the US is not the UK.

Emmie...of course its preposterous, but Trump thinks its a good idea and people on here support Trump, up to the hilt !
Some of us (e.g. me) loathed and despised Trump and his eldest son at exactly the same time as the Scottish Mikeys were brown-nosing to the Donald and awarding him rectorships at Scottish universities.
Question Author
VE...Trump has fooled a lot of people, and some 62,985,134 Americans amongst them !
Based on the fact that Trump had swung a deal on false promises (lots of jobs for Scots?) and had acquired real estate at a knock-down price subsidised by Scottish - shut up - English tax-payers. Not suggesting, of course, that Scottish Mikey Alex Salmond got an arranger's fee.
It is possible that half the American electorate whom you and Hillary deplore (or is it despise?) voted for Trump not because he is Trump, but because he is not Hillary or Obama?

Clinton and Obama are not on the side of the American people. Or if they are then only in the same sense that Merkel is on the side of the Germans.
Question Author
VE...Trump was the less popular candidate !

Clinton :::::65,853,652 votes :::::::48.2%
Trump :::::62,985,134 votes::::::::46.1%

The Electoral College won the Election for Trump, not his popularity.

If Obama had been allowed to run for a 3rd time, he would have won the Election hands down.
It's a great shame you can't listen to a dissenting voice and make some effort to evaluate the point being made, Mikey.
The infamous Hillary speech (which I heard) classified Trump voters as half "deplorables" (i.e phobes of various sorts) and half losers. Mikey has replaced this insulting categorisation with the simpler and more insulting "they're all stupid".

Half of America is "stupid", Mikey? Half?
To all you Mikey supporters out there who are surprised, disgusted and the rest by Trump's victory, a question:

Is that victory due to the stupidity of half the US electorate (the only allowable option on planet Mikey), or by some other factor(s)?

Question Author
VE...I am listening to a dissenting voice, and I don't agree with it !

Trump went after the Stopid vote, and was successful in getting most of them.

By the way, Trump is by no means a popular president. Only 55.7% of the possible population voted, and he got less than half of that.....so approx. only a few of the American voters, voted for him.

I asked you earlier if you supported Trumps view that everybody should go to night clubs with guns strapped on their waists or ankles. I see you haven't answered yet.
The Scots took to Trump, but he is after all one of their own and could have played football for Scotland had he been good enough. Then again judging from the team's recent performances he might be:)
mikey; An interesting article here by the estimable Pat Buchanan;

NFL in case you didn't know (and I didn't) is the National Football League
I'll give you the football stuff Garaman, but 'the Scots' never took to him.
Oh dear.

No, you didn't ask me (I'm starting from para 4 going back you understand), but, no, I wouldn't recommend that. Got it, Mikey?

But wasting my time, aren't I? There is a reason for Trump's being elected. You have a single explanation: stoopid. You lack the imagination to consider other possibilities.

Stick to opera, Mikey. I rather like Mikey the opera buff.
Question Author
Beg pardon...I thought I had....so that is one Trump policy that you don't agree with then.

But I am pointing out that "half" of America didn't vote for Trump, which was your assertion earlier. A lot less than half voted for Trump. The majority either didn't vote, or if they did, they voted for Clinton.

America's politics works very differently from most other democracies, in that the less popular person can end up winning.

If we had the same situation over here, Labour could have won the Election in 2017 !
It is possible for a party to win an election while getting fewer votes than another party here too though, Mikey.
Question Author
Garaman...it is indeed possible....my comparison wasn't really meant to be taken seriously !

But in America, the ED system ensures that the less popular candidate can win, which seems counter-intuitive to me.

Also, with such a low turn-out to their Elections, any candidate elected will seem to have little validity.

55.7% seems terribly low, especially when compared to Britain, where in 2017, the turn-out was 68.8%.
When it comes to politics, Mikey, I don't know which bits of what you say to take seriously :)

Garaman...I like to keep you on your toes !
