“The NI situation tipifies why Brexit is such a farce”

I’ll have to ask the same question, Zacs. Are you suggesting that because of the (apparently) intractable problems we must remain EU members forever (or until it disappears up its own exhaust, whichever occurs first)?
No. You’re putting words into my mouth. I’m sure you’ve read the second part of my post. That’s the more pertinent point.
Tora, I’m saying we should all have been coached as to the potential pitfalls.
Question Author
anyone could predict there would be problems to overcome, no need for coaching.

It's only the VB making mountains out of molehills. The brexiteers know/knew full well that problems will arise. We British are natural problem solvers, we'll get it done.
Ooooh, my hero.
It's only politicians that make this difficult.

I know of someone who was drafted into the Brexit department from the private sector and she gave up after four weeks. Every department is a separate and competeing organisation that is out to protect itself.

She said that there were over a hundred government officials and workers BUT she advised getting rid of the lot and getting half a dozen private sector people in and they would do the job in double quick time.

The sheer incompetence and timewasteing is phenomenal So it is no wonder we are in the situation we are now. It has nothing to do with difficulty and everything to do with politics.

Again I repeat.......it’s a pro European Govt. What did you expect?
"...it’s a pro European Govt. What did you expect?"

Foolish as I am, I expected my government to stand by its commitment published in the pamphlet it sent to every household in the UK:

"This is your decision. The Government will implement what you decide."

Of course that commitment was made on the understanding that the electorate would not be foolish enough to vote to leave (especially in view of the dire warnings of the consequences contained within that pamphlet and elsewhere). But that's not my fault. I expect that commitment to be honoured despite the result of the referendum in the same way as I expect it to be honoured despite the difficulties involved with doing so.
2nd para. We never learn do we.
The pamphlet didn't say that the commitment would only be met if a "pro-Brexit" government was in office. It also didn't say it would be met only if it didn't cause too much bother.

Yes he always has, pity it's always the wrong one though.
Zacs; Instead of continually carping, why don't you tell us, why you want to surrender your(?) country's sovereignty to the Brussels bureaucracy?
Question Author
none of the remainiacs can answer that one Khandro, they just think we should.
Maybe "St Tony Has The Answer!", but Zacs doesn't appear to
