Is it possible that if Jamie is sacked that the father might then be a target for attacks by Jamie and Liverpool supporters?

It does appear that Mr Hughes' urgent need to make 'news' of this situation is the equivalent of chasing your quarry over a cliff - he is the subject of a police enquiry regarding the manner of his driving.

And in case anyone wonders even for a second, which I doubt, I am absolutely NOT the Andy Hughes referred to here!!!
I hope he is prosecuted for using his phone while driving. I can't see any reason why he shouldn't be.

Do you think that the police will drop charges on both to quickly remove this debacle from the current news and remove any potential danger towards mr Hughes from an angry public?

No.

The police are not minded to swerve the law because of external circumstances, and are probably less sympathetic to Mr Hughes in view of the fact that any hostile attention he attracts is entirely of his own creation.
Two stupid men behaving badly when they are old enough to know better. Neither of them come out of this with any credit.
Mr Carragher should take a holiday until the World Cup, and Mr Hughes quitely let this drop. That might be dependent on what the police decide to do.

Does anyone wonder if mr Hughes was offered maybe cash and free tickets in order to buy his silence and not to pursue this any further?
I can’t see a Man United fan wanting tickets to a match at Anfield..
Your link says that the daughter began crying when she was spat at! I watched the video on the news - a couple of channels - and i didn't hear her cry. I heard her tell her father that the spit had hit her and, when asked where, she replied "On my face". The next time she uttered a sound was to tell her father "Stop it now". As they say, why let the truth get in the way of a good story?
The couple seem to be enjoying the attention if the photos are anything to go by.

Your man looks like a bit of a plum.
