/// Their abusers, meanwhile, have hailed predominantly from the Pakistani community. ///
/// As a result, police, schools, councils and social services have repeatedly been accused of failing to properly investigate the abuse for fear of being accused of Islamophobia. ///
/// Yet many believe the failure of authorities to properly hold to account those involved in grooming gangs will fuel ethnic tension. ///

I have not read anywhere that the parents in this tragic case had complained to the police. Their girl got pregnant by him for a 2nd time. He was never prosecuted as a groomer, or for his relationship with the girl. The original Court case in 2001 labels him her boyfriend, and everyone, including the father, seem to have accepted that.

Talbot - // There are quite a few ABers that will ignore the content of the OP and attack the OPer... especially when it comes to threads with the Muslim element. //
This looks like the opening salvo in one of your thread-diverting personal spat provocations, so I for one will be delighted to ignore it.

I suppose having this barmy corner of an obscure UK website is preferable than having all the ’white-van men (and women)’ promulgating their nasty, ignorant views out in the real world, although sometimes I would like to discuss aspects of the news with cultured and sensitive people.
But you can’t have it all.

Not that 'obscure' - it was mentioned on Steve Wright's show in the days when they had a Website Of The Day.
As for the cultured and sensitive people, there are dozens of us here, and we will all be delighted to bring your levels of culture and sensitivity up to ours, assuming that's possible.

Talbot - // It is attitudes like yours that have allowed this mass rape, trafficking and general abuse of young girls up and down the country to continue for decades, bainbrig ... but hey at least you have signalled that you are not Islamaphobic. //
You should be deeply ashamed of that post - and not for the first time.
To state that the attitude of a stranger gleaned from a couple of posts on a website means that he is complicit in such dreadful crimes is a disgusting thing to say - hopefully you may reconsider and offer your apologies.

Well I'm not and there is nothing wrong with my post.
The OP is not about the attitude of white van men/women or about people who bainbrig believes to have the 'percieved' attitude of white van men/women.
Yet you see nothing wrong with that accusation do you...tells me plenty about you. (tbh I already knew this)
This thread is about white girls being drugged, raped, trafficked and in this case killed.
Anything at all to say about the OP andy-hughes and bainbrig?

In that case, why are you responding to what he has said, and then asking if people have anything to say about the OP?
You can either stick to the OP exclusively, as you appear to be asking others to do, or you can follow the standard practice for the site, which is to follow debates and conversation where they go.
You can't have it both ways.

Talbot - // Neither of you has addressed the subject matter in the op ... you are both attacking other ABers.
Why not try doing both?
From 16:36 yesterday -
// AOG - //No need for the aggressiveness Jack. //
I don't believe Jack is being aggressive, simply making a valid point.
If there is a news item that involves an ethnic minority, it usually ends up on here, and is usually posted by you.
You post the same stories, people answer with the same answers - as asked, what else do you expect? //
And for the record, I have not 'attacked' anyone, I have taken issue with a viewpoint, which is what people do on here, it's called debate.
