Bbc 'celebrity' Mocks British Fishermen
Your licence fee goes towards paying him 1.75 million pounds per year. Do you think he is good value for money?

Never liked him, played the 'good guy' all the time and yet was caught out in all sorts of ways, can't remember the details. On the fishing issue, I've just dispatched an email to my(Leave supporting) M.P.. Maybe he's part of this group, or will join.
Try not to confuse people with facts, F-F - it won't end well.
Of course Lineker isn't worth £1.75m - no-one is - but he is entitled to his opinion of Farage and his cohorts in their pathetic (and wasteful) stunt.
His comment about Farrago and his (non) attendance at the relevant EU meetings was quite pertinent.

Gary was clearly using a play on words regarding the slimey farage and co and didn’t specifically mention “British Fishermen” at all and the media have obviously added 2 and 2 and came up with 9
“Rarely have 2 such slimey, smelly, slippery creatures held on to some fish.”
No mention of British fishermen at all.

So I think we are all agreed that he isn't mocking British fishermen, so the story is a non story in this respect. The title of the thread is misleading too. He is good at MOTD but I'm not sure how we decide whether he is or isn't worth the money. I prefer him to Clare Balding but if someone can cut all these salaries and maybe shave a few pounds off the licence fee I wouldn't mind. Trouble is people like BT would be happy to pay him more
Thanks, but I think I knew that Gromit. If BBC cut his pay he may well decide to work more for BT or Sky might take him. I could also see him doing ITV Saturday game shows as a host. I think he'll be able to command a good salary somewhere- or may just decide to spend his time enjoying his leisure time- if BBC were to decide to pay him less.
