Sixteen unarmed demonstrators shot dead by Israeli troops. This is why many on the left condemn Israel. We are not anti-Seminitic, just anti-military thuggery.

And of course we condemn terrorism by Hamas, no exceptions.

And that is not anti-Palestinian, either!

But we HAVE to talk with all sides to prevent this dreadful bloodshed.

Is Corbyn and are most of his hero-worshippers seriously looking for an honest settlement to the Palestinian issue by engaging with both sides?
I don't believe it myself, and the actions of Israeli troops don't really alter that opinion.
When armed military personnel tell you to eff off the wisest thing is to do just that. Otherwise you may suffer the consequences.

Aso it’s all the demonstrators’ fault? Nice logic.
So, by that logic, Corbyn should condemn Hamas...Can't say I've heard him say it.
//This is why many on the left condemn Israel//

Oh and what about condemning Hamas?

Violence isn't the answer but giving an excuse as to why you support the persecution of a whole state because of one incident is rather clutching at straws I think.
I may have put it somewhat crudely above but the gist remains the same. If you wish to challenge the civil or military authorities then you can expect a response. None of this 'right to peacefully demonstrate' drivel. Ever heard of the Riot Act?
Oh, the shame! I've just split an infinitive. I will never live this down.
Nowt wrong with a split infinitive, Jack - it's a 'rule' invented in the 19th Century.
I agree GG. It's up there with the other myths, such as you should never finish a sentence with a preposition or begin one with a conjunction.
But wasn't Churchill's formulation of the first rule "A preposition should never be used to end a sentence with"?
Just in case anybody forgot, Israel unilaterally withdraw from the Gaza Strip to the pre-1967 lines in 2005. It uprooted thousands of Israeli settlers from their homes. It dismantled all military infrastructure in the Strip. It has no physical presence there. It makes no territorial claims there.

To be continued.
Hamas is eager for civilian deaths for propaganda purposes. Thats is why they store weapons and fire rockets from schools, hospitals and mosques. They have murdered many in Gaza themselves.
This demonstration is an attempt to breach Israel's border fence and invade Israel. There is no peaceful purpose behind it
Just in case anybody forgot, Hamas, an Islamist terrorist organization that avowedly seeks the destruction of Israel, seized power in Gaza in 2007 in a violent takeover from the forces of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.

To be continued.
Just in case anybody forgot, having attempted to terrorize Israel into capitulation with its strategic onslaught of suicide bombers in the Second Intifada, it has, since grabbing hold of Gaza, continued its efforts to terrorize Israel by firing thousands upon thousands of rockets indiscriminately across the border.

To be continued.
Togo, do you write serial stories for a living? 'To Be Continued' is a blast from the days when I attended the ABC Minors on a Saturday morning.
Lol Jackdaw... ABC minors and the Cisco Kid. Start a thread my friend.
Just in case anybody forgot, were it not for the Iron Dome rocket defense system, much of Israel would, as Hamas had hoped, have been reduced to rubble.
Hamas has also been incessantly digging attack tunnels under the border — another terror avenue that Israel appears to have gradually been closing off with new technology and underground barriers.

To be continued.
Just in case anybody forgot, Hamas has cynically and relentlessly exploited Gazans — a large proportion of whom have supported it in elections — by storing its rockets near or even inside mosques and schools, firing rockets from residential areas, and digging tunnels from beneath homes and civilian institutions. It has subverted all materials that can be utilized for the manufacture of weaponry, necessitating a stringent Israeli security blockade whose main victims are ordinary Gazans.
Organizing and encouraging mass demonstrations at the border in the so-called “March of Return” to face off against Israeli troops, while sanctimoniously and disingenuously branding the campaign non-violent, is merely the latest iteration of Hamas’s cynical use of Gazans as the human shields for its aggression.

To be continued.
Break.
Palestinian terror group Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, acknowledged on Saturday that five members of its military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, were among 16 Gazans said killed on Friday during a massive march and protest along the security fence with Israel.
Hamas claimed those killed were taking part “in popular events side-by-side with their people.”
