Should Khan Go?
London Mayor Khan says the terrible increase in violence on the capitals streets is a “national problem”. Isn’t that just deflecting the blame elsewhere? Shouldn’t he do the decent thing and fall on his sword, or get given the boot, ASAP?

He's unworthy of trust and should go. To dismiss an alarming increase in violent crime as simply a national problem is akin to shrugging his shoulders and saying, "Yeah, whatever."

No he should not go, he has not done anything that would warrant that.
True stabbings are up and true Khan seems to be more vocal when it comes to removing bikini clad women from adverts but he was elected to be Mayor so really it is up to those voters to lobby him to be more vocal and push the Government.
He really is a fool to himself, gallivanting in the US and making bland statements like "part and parcel" and total obsession with the POTUS will always come back to haunt him. I doubt very much he is happy with the situation which is why I do find it strange we dont see him jumping up and down to get things moving.

Khan's power of policing is very limited. He can set objectives, which he has done. But he doesn't control operational matters, and he can't sack the commmissioner, who isn't responsible to the mayor. I can't see any reason to dismiss him for not doing things he has no power to do in the first place. (But then I imagine the real reason people want him sacked is because he's Labour.)
As far as I know, the commissioner reports to Rudd.

re Godwin
Das Kapital comes in three parts ( in tres partes divisa est)
( 1867, 85 and 94 ) - so no I dont see the revolution in russia could possibly have produced it - not even the 1905 one. ( coz the result comes before da cause )
unless you are referring to the Decembrists revolt of 1825, Note a revolution that has been carefully chosen to precede the publication of the book
Godwin avoidance - well the Italians used to refer to Musso as Lui - ( 'ee or He or Him - rather than Louis )
as in "Lui - ee made the trains run on time"
Big thing for the Romans.
so it MORE like saying Dickens led social reform wiv Nicholas Nickleby 1839 n Dotheboys Hall whereas Dicko was really cashing in on the scandal which had already broken before he put pen to paper
Hell this is AB - I am over-thinking this
there will be a great flood of "who - hooda dickens is dickens den?" and other side-splitting one liners
