Did he really seriously think that this duplicity was never going to come to light?
Even now, Trump is convinced that arguing that campaign funds were not used to buy the silence of an adult film star is the way to get out of this mess.
The source of the funds is not what America will want to know about - the reason that he felt the need to pay her off, is.
He is now spouting some guff that famous people routinely pay off people to buy their silence, it is a regular occurrence for people with money and / or fame.
Does it not occur to him that if he didn't consort with adult film stars, there would be no need to pay them off?
Also, while we are wondering about the workings of his mind - does he not see a difference between being a film or pop star, or a businessman, and being the elected President Of The United States?
Commentators are saying this might be the rope that hangs his presidency - and it's difficult to argue with that conclusion.

He has kept every promise. //
Call me old-fashioned, but I think an elected politician who has kept his promises is simply following up on the reasons that got him elected - in other words, doing his job.
Personally, I am not inclined to give an elected politician a swerve on his morally dodgy behaviour just because he is getting his day job right!

Talbot - // And my point andy is that you are suggesting Trump is guilty...yet you for some reason always say 'he hasn't been found guilty' when it comes to Jackson. //
I see you are not addressing my point about famous people not draining their bank accounts to pay off potential embarrassing liasons - but never mind.
I always say ' he hasn't been found guilty' when it comes to Michael Jackson because, er, he wasn't found guilty!
Don't get me wrong, I believe that MJ was about as shady as it's possible to be with a universe of international goodwill and a seriously clever law team, but the fact remains, he was tried in a court of law, and found not guilty.
So I'm baffled as to what point you are actually making - ?
