With the collapse of the Power Sharing Executive at Stormont last year, the province is in effect being run by ministers in Whitehall. Should they use that as an opportunity to relax the abortion laws in NI which are one of the most strict in the world?

However, under the later, 1948 Republic of Ireland Act, that says, "It is hereby declared that the description of the State shall be the Republic of Ireland."
That Act didn't amend the Constitution so you now have a different "name" and a "description" for the same country.
