If you were to be introduced to the Royals, how would you feel about bowing (if you're a bloke) or curtseying (if you're a lass) to them? I wouldn't mind too much if it was The Queen as I feel she's earned respect, but I don't hold most of the rest in great esteem. As for Kate and Meghan, they're basically commoners who Wills and Harry happened to fancy, so why should anyone now and scrape to them? That's my opinion anyway. What's yours?

I've only ever bowed in karate and judo, when you both do. I would never curtsey for royalty or anyone else. If that's what they insisted on, they just wouldn't get to meet me... :-)

I'd only bend the knee if it were to be followed by a tap on the shoulder with the ceremonial sword :-)
My opinion matches yours Dee. I might even moon some of them ;-)
I would avoid being introduced to any of them at all costs! X
I don't stand for the national anthem and wouldn't curtsey/bob to any one
When I met The Duke of Edinburgh in 1968, I sort of half bowed. It was a factory visit. He came over and asked what I was making. Fascia panels for the Triumph 2000, I told him. He just said "Very good." And walked on.
that its an out dated act and that i am glad i am unlikely to meet any royalty because i don;t really hold with bowing and curtseying.
gness: If you had lunch with Anne you might have learned something.
Princess Anne kind of pre-empts a cursey etc and reaches for your hand, so it never happens, she is much less Regal than her bro !!
I've met several of them, I don't bow, they are people, just like anyone else. I treat them the same as I treat everyone. i.e. as I would like them to treat me.
wbm quite right, its what i would do to be honest.
I'd curtsey to HM or Charles, as the reigning monarch and first in line, but that's it.
I told the Princess Royal off once for being late, with a smile, she grinned and winked at me.
don't imagine I would to any other Royals.. queen..philip..Charles... yes.. respect for the crown..but for HM too , I think she is a marvellous person... I often felt like slipping in a wee note to her in her boxes of deeds and commissions I wrote !!
I love Phillip. What a sense of humour! :-)
He calls a spade a spade NM. I like him too.
Their faces were a picture during Reverand Curry's sermon.
I didn't watch it. By the time of the event I was fed up with hearing about it every five seconds.
Having met several Royal family members several times I am pleased to say that I did a small curtsy and was proud to do so, and would do so again.
Wouldn't like it but unlikely to cause a scene. It's a degrading act in present times. Kates and Meghans have no effect on the issue.
Time to make a move.

Have a happy day everyone.
