Yes.
nope, massive over reaction as usual in this area.
Yes, I feel terribly sorry for everyone working on or around her show though :(
Can’t actually believe how stupid she was - what did she think was going to happen after tweeting that?? She’s lost hundreds of people their jobs!

She has blamed it on the sleeping pills she was taking.

Not sure of the link, because I always assumed that sleeping pills helped you sleep, rather than helping you post inanities on the Internet.
Once again the ability to communicate stupidty to the world via the ever-present 'social media' has come back to bite someone.

Years ago, if you were 'tired and emotional', you bothered one friend at a stupid time in the morning by ringing them up and dribbling nonsense down the phone which you forgot all about doing the next morning.

Now, you hit your keyboard, advise the world of how stupid you can be, and destroy your career.

That's progress!!
Yes, good prompt action by the studio .
No I agree with TTT a complete over reaction by ABC, which will cost the jobs of several persons for the idiocy of one.

And lets face it they were only words, that could be directed against anyone, trouble being the recipient happened to be black.

Yes but the world we now live in I'm afraid.

It's not just the racist tweet.

There's also what she wrote about George Soros. She's really quite a vile woman.

However, I agree that it's a real shame that her actions have now cost people their jobs.

Also, those words couldn't be directed at anyone unless they were black. It wouldn't make sense. Racists frequently use the ape thing to attack black people. They wouldn't write something like that about a white person, or someone from China. It wouldn't make sense.
We've all descended from apes. Must've been the Muslim descent that caused issues.
Yes, it's the right response from ABC & yes, it's a shame for all the people whose lives she's adversely affected.

sp - "She has blamed it on the sleeping pills she was taking."

Then they're not very good ones, as "Barr tweeted throughout the night..."
I admire the fact that they've taken decisive action. No half arsed dithering about trying to protect their asset while a controversy rumbles on.

It's a shame they couldn't have just sacked her instead of effectively sacking everybody, but when the show's called Roseanne, there's no option.

It has been used against whites, I have heard parents saying to their children "stop apeing around you are acting like a load of chimps" and it has often been used to describe a rather large and rough person i.e., "he was a massive Ape of a man" or "you, you great Ape".
yes, hamster often refers to Jeremy Clarkson as "the ape".
Roseanne has quite a history of shooting straight from the lip without thinking it through- right decision here.
By all accounts she's pretty obnoxious - nasty to people around her just because she can be - staff on the show, waiters in restaurants etc, so I haven't the slightest sympathy. Shame about the other people involved though.
They wouldn't write something like that about a white person, or someone from China. It wouldn't make sense.

Many if not most chimps have what would be a skin colour more akin to a white person than a black person.
And I have a mate nicknamed Silver back...for obvious reasons.
