ANOTHEOLDGIT, not sure why you mentioned the Nazis but Sikhs have worn turbans whilst flying in the RFC in WWI and the RAF in WWII. One flew without a helmet even though it caused lung damage.

Where I used to work ( some years ago ), in the foundry company introduced the policy of the wearing of hard hats ( you know elf and safety and all that ), the Sikhs were exempt from this Soooo turbans must be harder that hard hats I should imagine.
Don't have to wear crash helmet's when riding a motorcycle either.
