I don’t need to understand rap, sp. It’s a diabolical racket that makes my ears feel like they are being attacked with a cheese grater! Some of your comments are just downright unpleasant on this thread, and I’d guess that like me, most people have their favourite era of music, but like other eras too. I wouldn’t know an Adele or Ed Sheeran song from an...

If I read a synopsis for a TV programme, and it doesn’t interest me, I won’t watch it.
If I start watching something and it doesn’t grab me pretty quickly, I stop watching it.
If I hear a genre of music, and I think it’s a racket, I’m not interested in investigating it any further and keep on assaulting my ears.
On the other hand, if I discover an artist or song that is pleasing to my ears, I will investigate further, and have often discovered someone I didn’t know I would like in this way.
That doesn’t make me ignorant or a fool. It makes me someone who is open to new sounds if upon first listen, I like what I hear.
I’ve heard plenty of rap music.
I’ve also heard plenty of jazz, and choir singing, and I don’t need to investigate them further to know I can’t stand the sound of them. (As in young boy choir singing, but I don’t mind adult choirs and quite like gospel choirs).
You may see yourself as superior, but I see you as a bit of a pillock with delusions of grandeur.
Go to about 28.16 on this video.
That’s you that is!
Busy day, I’ll check back for any further insults this evening.
Sometimes you listen to someone’s opinion, and you think “Stupid oaf...with worthless views”.
If you have listened to all forms of rap and all of it sounds like a racket then fair enough.
However, just like jazz, choral, opera and rock, there are so many variations of rap that it’s not possible to bundle it all up and say it sounds like a racket.
Anyone who thinks that Q-Tip sounds like Missy Elliott who in turn sounds like Jay-Z is talking ***.

I could come back with something equally as vile as you, but shan’t be stooping to your level.
Just because someone has a different opinion to you, that does not make them worthless, no matter how much you disagree with them.
Mind you, that piece of filth that is the subject of the OP comes pretty close.
Q-Tip. Is that a person? Goodness, his parents must have had a sense of humour!
Missy Elliott. A southern belle?
Jay-Z. Yes, I think I’ve heard of him.
So you seem to suggest that you hear something and don’t like what you hear, you should hear some more.
Then if you still don’t like it hear some more.
Why listen to something you dislike, when you could be listening to something you love?
We all have our own tastes, whether in music, TV, films or books. Not liking the same as you doesn’t make me ignorant, nor you superior.
I’ll leave you to your warped and deluded beliefs superiority.
I’m not sure if you are ‘loosing it’ or just showing your true colours. Whichever one it is, I’m done here. I’ve said what I wanted to say, and any more of your bile filled posts will be ignored.
You have a nice evening. (If you can get past all that anger).
