How I wish she was around when my mum spent 3 agonising month in hospital, begging doctors to give her something to end her life. She was 80 and it was obvious she was never gonna get better.
She died screaming in agony as the lung cancer eventually claimed her life.
I am sure, half the patients families that are complaining would have welcomed her actions.

I think the main problem here is that, as Mammy posted earlier, some were not end of life.

Yet another very good reason we should have a legal and very controlled way of voluntary euthanasia not it done by the back door.

That's my understanding, in fact I've not seen cancer or any other terminal illness mentioned before in regards to this. They just seemed to be people in there for a variety of reasons, recovering from surgery etc.

Unfortunately, he touched upon a dangerous organisation, Common Purpose, who were interfering in the NHS and was immediately cut off.
Strange you might think, shouldn't the BBC be eager to learn about this secretive outfit interfering in public services. Not really, they already know all about them, seeing they're infested with them themselves.

That is totally unacceptable in this day and age,you should have made a complaint.

I am sure that every DR practising has given lethal or sublethal doses opiates to patients, terminal, invariably due to cancer, to ease their pain. Of that I am certain.

Why one should give overdoses of opiates to patients in coma escapes me. this needs investigation.

Who suoervises the doctors is an interesting point and has been a concern for at least 50 years. At one time, each hospital had what is know as the 3 Wise Men, experienced Consultants trustworthy and reputable to whom any member of nursing or medical staff could voice their concerns.
I was one of the 3 Wise Men.........one problem.....nobody had told me.
The NHS is a complicated organisation, completely out of control and I can see no answer to this.

The other big question is , should a GP be supervising patients in a hospital environment?
I am completely against this, but it happens in certain specialties in some District hospitals.

nope - it was a victim centric paper exercise:
the relatives said that they werent end of life and a particular doctor killed them.

Pt A - the 91 y o who fell and had a hip fracture operated on, then fell again - doesnt sound chipper and independent to me - whether or not she was once. - in this category - ( old with hips) 25% are dead within six months and another 25% will need continued supervised care.
The relatives remember them as bridge-playing gardeners without a care in the world....

There wasnt a 'lets hear it for Dr Barton' section either - so the group that complained was self-selecting.

Dr B wasnt interviewed - because no one was

one thing Sqad should look at - Chris Bulstrode was her brother and time was expended in inquiring as to whether he had hindered the GMC investigations

The Gosport report WAS meant to show up systems errors and has been hi-jacked by various pressure groups - - If Dr B could have been screwed for manslaughter she would have been by now - the police had enough looks at her docket.

One pressure group who was going for decent analgesia and sedation before death - sudduv like Dr B but less, looked for doctors' families who were loud in their criticism of their relatives dirty and painful death
They couldnt find one - the vast majority die at home .....

and if the nurses really thought Dr B was killing the patients - werent they under a diuty to rip the killer drips out and run down the ward with it in hand screaming - "another life saved?"
yes they were ( under a duty ) and no they didnt ( run down the ward)

Oh and finally - the three wise men system didnt work.
I suggested a few wise men that people had confidence in, and was told one of the wise men, no they didnt need thirty-three wise men !
No one used the ones that were appointed.

Sqad @ 15:09. I kept demanding the doctors do something, they saw how she was and they kept saying she had exceeded her dosages. I remember one nurse even came and asked for the radio to be turned down. It was not even on.
