I've just come across this video. The extremely impressive chap in it (he does the entire thing in one take) generally holds opinions that are the very antithesis of my own. He's vehemently anti-Trump and massively pro-EU – positions I find myself at odds with. And yet he speaks a truth about the fake victim-hood that is too articulately enunciated to ignore:
I'd be more impressed if it weren't for the swearing - really off-putting and does nothing to help his argument. Makes him sound like a pub bore. I hate swearing in general, and was amazed the other night when Frankie Boyle was allowed to use the C-word on his BBC show.
If you invent a fictitious British news reporter, I imagine you need to make them come across in a way we wouldn't normally expect - it can be overdone GG sometimes I agree.
As Mamya says, the comedian is Tom Walker Goodgoalie, Jonathan Pie is a character he invented who apparently swears as do most journos, I think it's just in the interests of realism, as a down time journalist who is frustrated with his job and with society generally.
