If you were sitting on tube carriage, or on a bus, and through one door walked a very old person, with a walking stick, and at the other end, a woman in her third trimester...and there were no seats free, who would you give up your seat for?

let them fight it out
the old in the red corner and the big lady in the blue ....

you ahve done your bit by giving up your seat

and being old and blind young muslims girls have offered me a seat - often !
// I have even paid fares when bus passes couldn't be found in cavernous shopping bags !//

yeah I did that - cdnt resist yapping in arabic to the lady draped in a chador - I think she was Urdu but she played the part....

yeah the bus conductor cdnt believe her eyes/ears as my travelling outfit as an OAP is dirty mac and cloth cap
Pregnancy is a lifestyle choice and old age is not....the older person would get my seat

237 @ 21:42,
Ok, you got it, it was a wind-up, except the bits about my avoiding Public Transport as much as possible, and Mrs B being looked after, and to be fair, when using PT I've never had reason to give my seat up to anyone at all.
Still brought out a few 'personalities' always interesting.
lol PP... have visions of Benny Hill now x
My love for you is restored Baldric, like it or not x
Baldric -) On the rare occasions that my Mum used the tube when she was elderly, some young lad would leap up and give him her seat as soon as she entered the carriage. There is still decency around.
now go stand in the corner Balders and consider the error of your ways.. ;o)

I thought that would get me on the Naughty Step at least MM ;o)
Too late to turn, Baldric....I've read too many similar posts...x
For someone who's blind you have an excellent awareness of the world around you, Peter.

PS: thought the chador was Iranian, therefore making Farsi the appropriate language. Could be wrong. Often am.
partially sighted
buut make an awful mess of walking down the road

dog also - you remember Lee Marvin in Cat Ballou?
it is a bit like that
The more sight you lose the better your memory seems to get (for me anyway).
I would stand up and let them decide who needed the seat more.
You had me going there Baldric. Not funny!
off to bed..nighty night folks .. mind and say a few Hail Marys Balders ! ;o) xx
//The more sight you lose the better your memory seems to get (for me anyway...//

Yes, Mamya, but to know all the varieties of modest Muslima dress with their often fine differences, and to recognise one from t'other while being partially sighted. You have to hand it to the man.

@ 21:57, gness, my dislike of Public Transport is well documented on AB, tbf.
It'll take more than a few Hail Marys, Minty... I've read many of Baldrics public transport posts...x
