Is it not time to face facts ? Mrs May is a firm believer in remaining with the EU. Why therefore is she continuing to pretend she is trying to satisfy the Electorate by being a Brexiteer ? It is time for her to leave the scenario to true Brexit believers like David Davis & Boris Johnson to really lead the exit campaign & get us out PRONTO.
because she thinks the public are incapable of grasping technicalities
quote..If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it, and you will even come to believe it yourself.
She will be gone soon. The Tories are traditionally loyal to their leader but rarely has a leader lost the confidence of her troops so soon. It took 10 years to get rid of Heath, May will not last as nearly as long.
Yes. It is time for her to make way for someone who puts the interests of the UK first.
Unfortunately the Remainers want to tie the UK to the EU as a vassal state with little to no power in actually taking back control of anything.
Although no one has the monopoly on predicting the future. I would suggest as a vassal state and rule taker we have what appears to be the worst deal on the table.
Therefore there is no more true statement that no deal is better than a bad deal.
// Nothing will ever be enough for hardline Brexiters.//
well er - shooting themselves in the foot whilst they yell not 'ow!" or "oo!" - but " Freedom from Brussels!"
or putting their eyes out with sticks - well one anyway - and exclaiming "I can see much better now!"
or snipping their fingers off with secaturs and saying
"well I never liked them anyway - they stick out like ears o that reminds me where is - - St Peter's Sword ?"
Kromo // Her plan does represent leaving//
No it doesn't, we will not be able to arrange trade deals outside the EU.WE will still be subject to the ECHU.We will be collecting tariffs for the EU, Etc Etc.
Peter it is like being transported back 39 years to the height of the troubles in NI. No surrender to this and that. In the end I guess it turned out not too badly so that’s what I’m hoping now ...
It doesn't matter really. The damage is done - and would have been done similarly by anyone in her position - of whatever political hue. The remainers would have made quite sure that this country was never going to 'Leave'.... and they have.
All May and the Govt are doing is trying to formulate a proposal for the terms of leaving. The fact that they are making a complete hash of it is irrelevant (but not unexpected) as the EU countries will meet and decide the final terms of our leaving without our involvement.
Her "plan" has b all to do with leaving since it continues to tie us into EU demands and authority. It's the oft discussed 'out in name only' scenario beloved by remainers as Plan C (or whatever letter) which makes us worse rather than better off.
Hardline remainers will stop at nothing to ensure we pretend to leave whilst ending up a vassal to the EU. The "Hotel California" Brexit description sums it up perfectly.
As pointed out a number of times, the EU can meet and decide what they like but they have no control over a nation state that has taken back it's sovereignty.
Well, actually, whilst it’s not ‘control’, there are implications. no1 being that we would have to trade with the EU under WTO rules. One immediate consequence would be the imposition of between 30 and 40% trariff of agricultural exports. There are others such as the loss of ‘passporting rights’ within the financial sector.
This is what May is trying to avoid, for obvious reasons.
Zacs, //the EU countries will meet and decide the final terms of our leaving without our involvement.//
You’ve said that several times and it gives the impression that the EU can dictate the final terms, which I don’t believe to be true. The other EU countries will discuss final terms, but they can’t dictate final terms.
