Theland - As you may or may not know, I am an atheist, but I have a reasonable grasp of the concept of Christianity - I attend Mass weekly, so I do get to hear biblical texts, and a priest's homily. Based on what I understand Christianity to be - and the OP's and thread responses you post on here - this being a prime example, I have to say that I think you are the most...

People like Theland are bit disappointed due to the decline of Christianity and rise of Islam, especially in the West . And that is the one reason behind these kind of posts. I do feel sorry for Theland however a person needs to make an effort to find the truth as God has only asked for effort and not the result.
And that^ from a devout Muslim is worth thinking about.

Hello Keyplus. How was Marrakech?

Unfortunately there have been so many attacks carried out in recent years by Islamic terrorists that I suppose it's only human nature to jump to the conclusion that this man belongs to that group. It's wrong however to tar all Muslims with the same brush. The OP could have been worded differently.
The OP doesn't tar all Muslims with the same brush. It's simply an educated - and rational - guess.
From what I have seen of Theland's posts in this site concerning Muslims, 'educated' and 'rational' are the last things his thoughts are.
Strangely enough it looks like he's right though....
Coincidence is a wonderful thing ...
Not when it is frequent and deadly though. ^^
Togo - // Not when it is frequent and deadly though. ^^ //

I think you know exactly what I was referring to - I do express myself very clearly, and I am very good at it.

If you didn't understand my point, feel free to advise, and I will be delighted to explain it for you.
I know exactly what you were, in your usual ham fisted and self congratulatory fashion, were in a time honoured way, slyly referring to. Your point was the usual one. To prove that, by being contentious, that you are a "thinker" and all round erudite intellect. Take this advice. It isn't working. Disappointing mind considering you old alma mater. I never knew anyone come out with less than they took in. You must have taken precious little in.
Yes, Togo. That remark at 2102 referring to you was practically oozing with superior condescension, as I have noticed so many of the other posts made by AH are...Utterly uncalled for.
Ta Sanmac…….Nice to recognise that others see the same, but I do try to hold my corner. (^_*)
Some posters are barred from Answerbank for continually posting diatribes against religious or ethnic groups, diatribes that could earn them a prosecution in the real world.

Other posters with similar records are allowed to remain.

I wonder how such judgments are arrived at.
andy-hughes, no coincidence. As I said an educated - and rational - guess.

Spot on with that observation, Bainbrig.

But, as we're on the topic of "hate speech" legislation, consider how hazy these classifications are. What, for instance, constitutes a "religious group"?

Do you know anything about Scientology? That's a religion, isn't it? Or not - but if not, why not?

Am I allowed to attack its founder Lafayette Ron Hubbard as a scammer, mock his teachings and condemn the unwholesome tactics used by his followers to extract money from potential converts and to persecute whistle-blowers who have left the faith?

You wouldn't want to see criticism of Scientology, or of its founder, or of its followers to be criminalised, would you, Bainbrig?
Absolutely not, vestute. I know precisely how and why the nonsensical Scientology ‘thing’ came about, though I fear all the criticism in the world will do no good in bringing about its downfall!

Oh, incidentally, like you I am heartened by the current mass demonstrations in Iran.
