What are your thoughts? i'm not wholly convinced either way - it WAS immediately rescinded, and it's not like she was tending to the sick

saw this on FB ..nevertheless they were on duty and had nipped into Tesco to get something to eat...sometimes they don't get the chance...I always invite a paramedic ahead of me in a queue because once the alarm goes they have to respond immediately...think he was a jobsworth
I don't think it's much to get worked up about, possibly something that wasn't covered in his training.

Glad they have overturned the ticket.
Sometimes a bit of common sense is called for
I don't think the traffic warden understands what 'on call' means
The person who issued the ticket needs to use his brain! Would he have done the same if it was a Police Vehicle? I very much doubt it! I have no problems with people being issued with "tickets" for parking infringements, this individual showed no common sense.
I can't understand why all emergency vehicles are not exempt from parking restrictions.
They should be, AOG.
This would never happen in the states.
A happy alternative would be a couple of spaces for oversized vehicles whilst drivers shop.
Bit over the top, but these " Emergency vehicles" are used for all sorts of reasons.
Some 2 years ago, it was reported in the media that an ambulance man took his mistress onto the sands at Southport for a "necking session" and during the orgasmic sexual excitement, the tide came in and engulfed the ambulance.
The had to be "rescued" and the ambulance towed away...LOL.
/// Emergency vehicles" are used for all sorts of reasons. ///

Quite true Sqad, when I was in the RAF the airfield ambulance was called out to an emergency, the driver got part way down the perimeter track when he heard banging from inside, it turned out to be an Airman and a WAAF, who had been up to 'nookie' on the stretcher.
"I can't understand why all emergency vehicles are not exempt from parking restrictions."

It's to give the rest of us at least a small chance of getting parked near Greggs.
Being cynical! Do wardens get a bonus for issuing a target of so many tickets per day? Would it then be difficult to claw back bonus if tickets were wrongly(?) issued or rescinded?
I think it's good to know when to turn a blind eye, but she should've sorted herself out before going on duty, or been able to do so when next back at the hospital.
So bednobs , where do you stand - still on the fence ?
I`m glad the warden stood his ground against the interfering idiot who was filming.
I don't think he was interfering. Wouldn't you rather our emergency services were fed and watered?
It was a passer by who was filming. Nothing to do with him - he just wanted to shove a mobile camera in the warden's face to stir up trouble.
I don't think anyone would want any essential worker to go hungry or dry, as I said maybe a couple of spaces for larger vehicles that weren't attending emergencies would suffice.

We used to get a fire engine park up and cause dreadful hold ups on the next street , driver was doing his personal banking - the bank has since closed.

How do you know it was his personal banking, it may have been fire station related.
