the issue people er dont think about ( not me! not me!) is that the substitute driver turns out to uninsured for the car.

Not sure how a simple driving offence ends up being tried at the Old Bailey. A complete waste of money.
An MP gets caught lying, so nothing new there then.
'Perverting the course of justice' is somewhat more serious than 'a simple driving offence', Gromit. It carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.
Huhne and Pryce were both given 8 months sentences.
