David Lammy On Democracy "we Shouldn't Pander To The Will Of The People."
"we shouldn't pander to the will of the people.", not very professional coming an MP expecially to the 17.4M people and considering Lineker is a tax avoiding football pundit and not an expert on politics.

I think Webbo's misquote was kindness itself. It beats // thank god some people are prepared to stick their neck out and not pander to the “will of the people” ***.// .... which will be edited as quite unacceptable by the AB automatic super- editor!!

I don't believe that any serving MP would seriously refer to the will of the people in such disparaging terms, which are more suited to a rugby club changing room than the communication channel of an MP.
So we are left with two interpretations of what Mr Lammy wrote -
Naomi's interpretation, which makes him an arrogant out of touch offensive moron who cares nothing for democracy, and is less than fit to be an MP.
Or we have my interpretation whcih makes him a typically humourless arrogant out of touch buffoon who thinks he is far wittier and more clever than he clearly is, and who is unable or incapable of writing coherent messages which are not open to hostile misinterpretation by the thousands of people waiting to see him fall on his face.
Take your pick, but let's be honest, neither of them make him look good - do they!

Talbot - // Like if or not founding father... It is bigger and has more knowledgeable contributers than Answer bank. //
I am not sure who the 'founding father' is to whom you refer, but saying that Twitter is bigger and has more knowledgeable contributors than Answerbank is like saying an elephant is bigger than a mouse - somewhat obvious, and not relevant to the discussion.

Talbot - // Contradiction... Much. //
I have no idea qhat that means.
// If Twitter was not relevant why has it been mention and ridiculed? //
I never said Twitter was not relevant, it is absolutely the core of the debate since it is Mr Lammy's chosen method of conveying his confused muddled arrogant nonsense to the masses.
It is ridiculed, by me at least, because I think it gives people an overblown sense of their own importance - that they can say whatever comes into their heads and think that the rest of the world could care less.

Old_Geezer - // Your interpretation of Lammy's statement is amazingly generous and optimistic, A-H. Don't spin away politician's verbal indiscretions for a living, do you ? //
If it is seen as 'generous' and optimistic', then that is not through any intention of mine!
I simply believe that even David Lammy is not stupid enough to put such total contempt for the electorate in writing, so I am assuming,
as I have said, that whatever other skills he may or may not have, communicating clearly in written English is not one of them.

Garaman, Haha! Someone’s smarting. I know nothing about football or jug ears so I can’t comment on either. I did, however, comment on the general gist of Togo’s post and I’m happy with that. Incidentally, the day I sink to the tawdry Newspeak depths of the duplicitous Remainers is the day I’ll start to worry.
