/// Mr Khan, who campaigned for a Remain vote in the EU referendum, said Brexit could make tackling the drugs trade harder. ///
/// 'The drugs come from overseas and the idea that we will be more effective at fighting crime by leaving the EU - by not having the security arrangements with the EU - is ridiculous,' he said. ///

I suspect he's right: a lot of what appears to be random violence often turns out to be drug-related, which suggests a rise in knife attacks could well be linked to a rise in drug-taking (or more correctly, to the buying and selling of drugs). There's more of it in London because London is way bigger than other towns, but I shouldn't imagine smaller cities will be immune.
that's also just what the Mail says, Webbo. To find what Khan himself said you need to look for words in the text in quote marks - and hope that the Mail has got them correct.
'There is a definite link, which has been shown to me by the police, of drugs and criminal gangs and knife crime and crime going up.
'There are some Londoners who think it is a victimless crime, taking cocaine at "middle-class parties".
'We need to make sure Londoners realise there is no such thing as a victimless crime.'
'Some of the young people being knifed on our streets in London, some of the young people losing their lives is because they are involved in criminal gangs who are lower down the food chain in relation to drugs.'
Hard to argue with any of that.

Whilst I agree that Khan is desperate not to face facts, demand for Cocaine does create a serious problem.
However, acid attacks, moped muggings and the suchlike are not necessarily related to drugs in anyway. Society is becoming less civilised with each passing day.
One thing I fail to understand ... what kind of a saddo wants to snort cocaine? Is a glass of wine not enough when socialising?
