People have been seeing a breakdown in society since it began. I don't think it's worth fearing the collapse of society because of the actions of such thugs either now or in the future.

That's not to condone such behaviour, of course -- it's unacceptable -- but there's no need to exaggerate its scale either.

It is no exaggeration, there has been a sharp increase in the breakdown of our society even over the last couple or three years.

Our once proud Capital City of London, is a prime example, where it is has been proven, that it is not safe to walk it's streets.

I'm not sure I agree that a short-term spike in London homicides is indicative of a wider breakdown in society. Each death is one too many, and I don't mean to minimise the individual tragedy, but it's still hyperbole to go on about societal breakdown and collapse because of that.

Years back we weren't followed everywhere by cameras so a lot of crimes would have gone unreported to the media.

I've always advocated that assault on Police ought to mean an automatic custodial sentence, minimum 6 weeks.
