An "execution" actually costs more than keeping somebody in jail for 25 years, according to something I read a few years ago.

There are the various inevitable legal appeals (which probably racks up millions of dollars), medical reviews, psychological and psychiatric reports, cost of attending officials and professionals, a Dr to pronounce the felon dead, cost of administering life-ending drugs (which probably runs into six figures), and all the after costs of burying the person who was executed. A pretty sum by all accounts.

That can’t possibly be true. Take him to the vets for a little injection - and if that makes him happy, good. It would make me happy too, so a bonus all round.
