too tight to get their dog spayed? I just don't get it, I know Staffies are not the most favoured dog in the world but surely if you don't want the puppies it's easy to spay the chitb? These look too young to be taken away from the mum anyway. Some low life scum just should not be allowed to have a dog.

Yes we can post links back and forth but the bottom line is, irrespective of breed, dogs should not be left alone with children.
A lot of pit bull attacks occur within a family home, horrible breed, should be totally eradicated.
They aren't a breed though Sparklykid, that's the point, there is no single breed of pitbull, they are rather a type of dogs but a lot of blurry edges.
Fair enough, just cull all varieties of that "type" of dog.
That's what it is at the moment hence a pit bull can be or look like almost anything, breed specific legislation makes absolutely no sense.

That is pretty silly, we all know a pitbull/staffy type does not look like a fluffy bunny or a cute kitten.

It has a large head, powerful jaws, quite easy to see a likeness, and yes, I would see staffies on a cull list.
I thought you probably would.
I agree with Sparkly. I'd far rather trust a Labrador or a collie etc than a large jawed staffie or pitbull any day. It is a fact that staffies and pitbulls attack more than any other dog as is proven by all the newspaper reports. Yes, they probably have scumbag owners, but like I said in a previous post, I don't know the answer to these type of owners, I just wish I did.
Hi hereiam, these types of dogs just frighten me. Why anyone would want a dog with a reputation these have is beyond me.

That's what I am talking about, powerful jaws which wont let go.
I'm in an area where every other dog is a pitbull, and I'd happily have a pit or a Staffie and not think twice about it, because I'm responsible with my dogs in training them, socialising them and ensuring that people aren't a problem with my dogs and my dogs aren't a problem with them.

We have a Staffie and a Staffie/Rottie Cross both great dogs and a pleasure to be around
Yes, because you are not one of the many scumbag owners out there Baldric who think owning one of those dogs is a 'trophy' and nothing else.
which brings us right back around to ' it's the owners not the dogs'. People like that will make a problem out of everything, if you 'readicated' staffies and Pits, they'd turn another breed into a problem :/
eradicated even :/
I know Sparkly those jaws terrify me, especially when I'm out with my little dog and I see an aggressive one running free, as frequently happens ...

Collie dogs are not good with children or other pets. My OH's family bred them for years and unless they get tons of work they can be snappy. I'm sorry to say, but as much as I adore animals these pups would have been better off put to sleep. There are enough rescue dogs out there without adding to them.
