Just another example of what the UK is becoming. Lots of young men training to defend us slated by an 'Islamic Advisor to the Armed Forces, who would probably turn on the lot of them given half a chance. Why on earth do we need an Islamic Advisor? Fair enough if there is a 'Hindu Advisor' and a Buddhist Advisor, along with a Pagan advisor' and a Jw Advisor....I bet there blinking well isn't though!
Lydia, you are preaching to the converted here.
Maybe because a white British boy with his own racial ideas on Islam isn't educated enough to take such action or responsibility on Islam. Advisers are good ideas because 80% of these boys have no clue what they're on about.
What nonsence Spath.

Still never mind they will be out laying their lives on the line to protect your right to sit at your keyboard spouting such rubbish freely.

There is no reason TR should not be photographed with these soldiers. He is not a member of a banned group and as such should be treated the same as any other 'politician'
Spath these boys don't need to know what Islam is 'on about', just watch their backs, that would be the best advice!

The armed forces along with the security forces certainly need a Islamic Advisor, but that person should not be a follower of Islam.

Nothing quite kicks a post off like an unsubstantiated nasty Islamophobic observation.

Because the major terrorist threats against the UK come from individuals who claim that Islam is their justification for their terrorism, so it's as well to have someone who actually knows and understands Islam as an advisor on the subject.

Don't let your bigotry get in the way of simple common sense in terms of trying to understand the thinking of our enemies.

"Still never mind they will be out laying their lives on the line to protect your right to sit at your keyboard spouting such rubbish freely"

No, i don't think they are actually.

AL yes, but i'm sure at a UK service station they don't need to be cheering with Tommy Robinson, a known far right activist. Cheering his name like a hero and guidence. Ridiculous.
Well with a name like Imam Asim Hafiz I doubt he's a Jew :-)
Jackdaw - // Lydia, you are preaching to the converted here. //

Preaching certainly, I for one am not 'converted' as you put it.
AOG - // The armed forces along with the security forces certainly need a Islamic Advisor, but that person should not be a follower of Islam. //

Why not?

And your right too - it appears!
Spath they have every right to cheer who they like when they like ( well maybe not on Parade). Thankfully this is not the Middle East. If Muslims are allowed to cheer and follow know terrorists giving speeches in Hyde Park then a few young soldiers having a laugh with a Politician should be accepted too.

The issue for the military, is that this is an unapproved and unsanctioned piece of publicity for 'Tommy Robinson', using soldiers employed by the Ministry of Defence.

The Ministry has to be very careful about its public perception, and cannot be seen to apparently endorse the views of an individual without proper authority - which risks bringing the military into disrepute.
"Spath they have every right to cheer who they like when they like"

No they don't.
Tommy Robinson is NOT a Politician. Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon AKA Tommy Robinson is a far right activist.
Civilian Chaplains to the Military for the Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim and Sikh faiths.

Why should an Islamic advisor not practise that faith?

Actually, they don't, please see my post at 12:38.

'Tommy Robinson' is not a politician.
