No, but they did choose to go and support him by chanting his name.. Do you not understand how that implies they agree with his idologies?
Regarding "would you stand there going 'who the F is he?' or would you join in?" Yes of course i would!?

SK - // So ( against the rules according to AH) Tommy says to squaddies " Sod off" do not take any pics of me. How would that have gone down ? //
The So Rule is not 'against the rules' at all, just an illustration of how some people get the wrong end of the stick, and then beat about the bush with it (!!)
If I saw 'Tommy Robinson' in a car park, I would not be remotely interested in engaging him, but assuming that I was, and he preferred not to do so, then he could politely decline and walk away, as anyone in the public eye is able to do.
But in this instance, it is clear that he instigated the situation, in order to film it on his phone, in order to appear to receive the endorsement of Her Majesty's Forces in his pointless nasty self-publicising nonsense, and it spears he has succeeded admirably.

AuntLydia - // Ummmm //Talbot - it's all over the media.//
That's not their fault! They didn't go out one day looking for Tommy Robinson in a carpark then force him to film them having a laugh with him , then post it on Twitter did they? //
But they are the collateral damage in the fall-out of 'Tommy Robinson's relentless drive for affirmation and publicity.

SparklyKid - // because the MOD don't allow its soldiers to monkey about in car parks for the amusement of strangers filming them - for reasons I have explained at length'
Wow, there we have it AH an expert on MOD protocol.lol/ //
You don't have to be an expert - you just have to understand that national and international employers are sensitive about how they are represented in the public eye, that's just common sense, no expertise needed.

AuntLydia - // Andy // 'Tommy Robinson' from implying their tacit support //
Has he implied this? //
Of course he has! Why else do think he filmed them - for the amusement of his immediate family and close friends?????
The man needs publicity like you and I need air to breathe, he spends his waking hours looking for it, and something like this must have been a gift.

/// 'Tommy Robinson's inexhaustible need for the oxygen of publicity at the expense of a government ///
When has that ever been a crime in a democratic country? //
Never.
The only 'crime' here is naivety at one end of the scale, or stupidity at the other, on the part of the Officer In Charge, who will probably be answering some tall questions from his or her superior officer as I write.

No they are probably rolling their eyes skyward as another lot of snowflake poo hits the fan. Not many lily livered liberals in the armed forces I doubt.
