If folk knew I worked for a firm with government contracts to guard folk for example, a personal opinion that my employer should invest in cattle prods would not go down too well...

SparklyKid - // Yes - but that does not allow soldiers to be seen to be endorsing a right-wing extremist on social media.

It gets more and more stupid. It was a piccy For Funks Sake, get over it. Not a subversive attempt to overthrow the govt. //
It wasn't a 'piccy' - that's the whole point!
A picture is open to any number of interpretations, and can be defended as innocent and harmless.
By getting the soldiers to cheer and shout his name, 'Tommy Robinson' enjoys the perceived endorsement of his views by members of the armed forces.
Don't get me wrong, soldiers can support who they like, but they are not entitled to appear in uniform on social media vocally supporting a political extremist - and that is the issue here.

/// As I have already pointed out, the officer in charge should have prevented this from happening, not because it is 'Tommy Robinson' but because the MOD don't allow its soldiers to monkey about in car parks for the amusement of strangers filming them ///
Obviously you have never served in the Military and it shows.
Did you expect the 'officer in charge' to have them lined up in columns of twos, march them into the food hall, then after to march them back again so as to board the coach?
They grouped in the car-park met up with a celebrity and took the opportunity to have their photos taken with him.
No big deal.

"What are his ideologies?"
Tackle Islam and put an end to it in a football hooligan way.
"And what do you think they are training for, The Edinburgh Tattoo?
They don't have to be patrolling our borders 24/7 so as to protect us, but they are on call 24/7 for each and every emergency that may occur."
So they're not defending me, in the sense that i'm under attack at all, and i would in fact be at my keyboard much like you all if those in the video were not in the MOD. They are, as i said.. Training.

ummmm - // Andy - in that case politicians and presidents should not be allowed on Twitter, //
I entirely agree - no politician, and certainly not a President, should have access to instant world-wide communication media that allows them to post random thoughts without checking by responsible, sober, awake, clearly-thinking colleagues with a thorough grasp of consequences.
That said, I don't understand how your comment relates to any of my posts - ?

AOG - // Obviously you have never served in the Military and it shows. //
That's hardly news is it?
// Did you expect the 'officer in charge' to have them lined up in columns of twos, march them into the food hall, then after to march them back again so as to board the coach? //
No, I expect the officer in charge (no quote marks, I wouldn't demean their status) to be aware of the situation, and prevent them being filmed by a known publicity-seeking felon apparently opening themselves up to the accusation that the MOD supports his views.
They grouped in the car-park met up with a celebrity and took the opportunity to have their photos taken with him. //
No, to be clear, they grouped in the car park, were used by a publicity seeking activist (celebrity? really???) and filmed by him for his own personal self-aggrandisement, and the suggestion that soldiers of the crown support what he says and does.
// No big deal. //
Looks like the MOD don't agree with you there.

fender - // islam is not a religion, but a political ideology wrapped as a religion … //
Clearly it is a religion -
Islam
ɪsˈlɑːm,ˈɪzlɑːm,ˈɪzlam/
noun
noun: Islam
the religion of the Muslims, a monotheistic faith regarded as revealed through Muhammad as the Prophet of Allah.
the Muslim world.
However, it has been corrupted by extremists intent on using it as justification for their psychotic behaviour.
// ... as for the advisor, muslims hate the british armed forces, so we do not have to seek there approval, but political correctness comes first. //
That is a ludicrous sweeping statement for which you have no basis in fact - if you are going to post, try not to post things which are clearly competely untrue.
