You will find that more than one Police Force was involved in the Royal Wedding. Those officers from other forces are not routinely available for policing London with the Met, except when the Security alert is at it's highest when armed officers from BTP patrolled the Metropolis.

Instead of increasing the police how about decreasing the number of immigrants (or children of immigrants), as they are responsible for most of the murders.
