Obviously there are users on here that know Lord Sugar personally. I mean it would be churlish to make such an observation about someone you have never met...to dissect someones character from a TV programme.....

He did not sell rubbish tech to those who could not afford better. He sold Tech available at that time, that was not available at a reasonable price to the masses.

It's like Gordon Ramsay...he shouts and swears and acts really mean but when someone cries his demeanor changes instantly.

I know someone who has met him and they said a ruder more entitled SOB you'd never find, he was so absurdly peacockish he was like something from a sit com apparently. I respect that person and their viewpoints by and large and I've seen or heard of nothing either first hand, third hand or in the press to contradict it, so that's my two pen'worth about him.

No but I watch him on tv like everyone else, with an act there is a minute pause to regain the role before speaking this doesn't happen with him. Neither are there any of the signals that he is thinking about what he is going to say to his 'victims' I suspect he has been playing the part for so long it has become a major part of who he is so he doesn't actually play it anymore..

Gordon Ramsey was in the same restaurant as me recently, he was with a group of friends and seemed like a decent bloke. The staff were incredibly nervous but at the end he asked if the chef could come out for a few moments and he took the time to compliment her on the meal. His house was on the edge of Wandsworth common and mum used to see him a lot when she was walking a friend's dog. He said good morning without fail so at least in real life he's not so bad.

Yeah you can see Gordon Ramsay is just a bit firebrandish, no harm in him at all, likewise Simon Cowell is not a bad person (except for extinguishing real music that is), but Sugar is something else I feel, he just hits me as totally unwholesome. If I ever meet him and change my mind I'll be the first to apologise however, but I can't see that happening tbh, I don't think we move in the same circles.

if you remember EcclesCake, she knew Gordon Ramsey very well as she worked on the behind-scenes preparation for his programmes and ones like Can't Cook, Won't Cook (smoke and mirrors on that one). As she said, Gordon's real persona is completely at 180 degrees in real life.....and his restaurants wouldn't survive if he was effing and blinding to his staff all the time like he does on TV. What is common in his programmes and his restaurants is that they are spotless, his hygiene standards very high - as are Raymond Blanc's kitchens....
