Just read that Angela Merkel is to step down as leader of the Christian Democratic party after 20 years. The German Chancellor told leaders of her Christian Democrats (CDU) that she will not seek re-election as party chairwoman, a senior party source told Reuters.
i have little or no respect for her, she has been the obstacle in the way of our transition out of the EU.
She knows that with UK out of the game, others may well follow.
The point is thst the UK isn't managing anything well on it's own wrt Brexit. We have a PM who won't stand up to EU determination to make a mess of it, no matter the cost to it's members; and who gives unacceptable concessions in the hope of getting any deal, no matter how bad, from the EU. How much of that is down to which individual is a matter for debate, but there's been little enough outcry from her at the way the EU is forcing things.
