two issues
a) going to school over age
b)taking GCSEs
a) you are screwed if you are over 19 - the lor sez..... etc - actually the lor doesnt say BUT there are safeguarding issues with the cut off set at 19.
I had to hire someone to teach me maff A level because the uni of manch agreed to take me for maff if I got the A level - a prologned visit to Christie interfered with planA.
b) and then I turned up and took papers A and B - no probs there. I couldnt take C and D as I was on ITU and that my dears was the end of my maff career aged 60.
There was no maff A level evg course offered in North Manch and that was because there was no one taking Maff A level in North Manchester at skool because the teachers then do the evg classes.

There was a medical student chucked out a few years ago
and there was talk of fraud .... ( grant applications etc and lied about his age)
This is nothing any right minded person will be surprised at.

Some people look older than they are and some people look younger than they are.
However when a ‘school age’ boy rocks up and to all intents and purposes looks to be late twenties early thirties alarm bells should ring.
I cannot believe in this day and age that there isn’t a relatively simple way to determine age. I suspect it is more to do with HRA and privacy than an ability to find out.
It smacks of all the ‘children’ seen being shipped over from France the other year from the French Port camp.

Gromit, I'm with you but most ABers have never had the experience of being a 2nd class citizen on benefits and judge from the comfort of their armchair with the heating on and a full belly!
Indeed John – but many have taken responsibility for themselves by working and experiencing a life no better, and often poorer, than those who depend upon society to support them…. not that any of that is relevant to this thread.
