A lethal injection would be a better cheaper option.

The main problem is, that once one embarks on the journey of transgender treatment, it is difficult to got off the train which leads to surgery.
Madness.

Frankly, after what he’s done I can’t see anything improving his mental well-being. NHS specialists need to review their priorities - urgently.

none of this is vital surgery, especially to criminal scum. The NHS is not there to pay for "luxury" surgery. How gullible are the powers that be? The bloke's a normal bloke. He fancies women, he got himself banged up in a women's nick and raped women. What now? turn him into a Lesbian? You really could not make this stuff up!
I blame birth control pills.
Women have been peeing them out for decades and the residue has been accumulating in our bodies ever since.
He should join the q like anyone else. But if he did the bleed8ng hearts brigade and transgender activists would be screeching about human rights and the prison service would get sued.

There are at least three separate issues here: whether transgender people are what they say they are, and society has moved on in understanding since times past; whether prisoners should be entitled to important treatments (yes); and whether transgender surgeries should be on the NHS at all (debatable, as research as to its impact on mental well-being is ongoing).
Of course, it's helpful to mix up the three, since a murderer is an unfortunate* advocate for transgender rights, allowing people already uncomfortable with these to go even more on the attack.
I can't be bothered to waste my time persuading people who've already made up their minds not to call this person "she", but at least do a human the decency of calling them "he", rather than "it".
*massive understatement

Another vote for totally wrong.....makes me cross.
Cassa's answer interested me. About twenty years ago I was in the dentist's chair being treated by a female who was having a long rant (captive audience) about what will happen in the future with all the female hormones we're releasing....here gripe was HRT.....perhaps you have a point, Cassa.....
I would have thought this operation required the person wanting to go through with it to be sane and right thinking......I doubt that's the case considering the crime he committed.....so perhaps finding a specialist with the balls to refuse the treatment would be a good step....x
