Fine. £7 every three years to travel is fine.

However, tourism earns the UK so much money, especially regarding the queen. Why bother charging them when by coming here they're helping fund us with tourism income? Seems a faff, bit tit for tat..

a ayrton ???????????????????????????????????????????
a ayrton (to my mind..) is defined as a good person.
Charge them a pony for the priviledge of coming here then!

Seriously though I dont think we should charge them Be the better person and show the EU up for what they are.

Tourism makes us billions anyway .. everyone likes tourists coming to their country. Toys out the pram comes to mind. Pathetic. Politics and this whole brexit shindig is like a playground squabble.
Most of the petty stuff is coming from the EU though Spath.

Like I said above, I think we should rise above it and let them show themselves up for what they are.
Of course, if we do leave totally with no deals then it is only right and proper that we are treated like other countries in the same position.

7 EUR probably wont cover the admin costs so it is not exactly excessive is it?
But we're involved.. If we wanted to leave, we could rip up the contract or whatever, and just leave, no deal, doing our own thing making our own laws, just like the EU can. But, we need them, don't we? Evidently.. Else why propose any kind of deal? So much is in place we want to keep... but because of certain aspects we want to leave the EU. We can't have it both ways in my opinion, we stay with a deal or leave no deal.

The whole situation is a faff. How after 3 years can they even question their confidence in the woman who has done and arranged this all? It was all suppose to be sorted by now, but we're literally milking a dead cow, getting no where.

I think there is some pathetic immature behaviour from both sides, but i agree with you, that we should let them do this, not rise to it, and show them that we're not that petty.
No big deal really for so little.
Malta has already introduced a stealth tax for tourists called the 'Environmental Contribution tax'. I expect other European countries will follow suit with a scam of their own.
I will be spending Christmas and New Year there and we will both pay 0.50 Euro per night to a maximum charge of 5 Euros pp. This tax is collected by hotels on behalf of the Govt and personal details will be requested.
I suppose someone has to pay for the holiday makers who wash up on their shore in rubber boats!!
The Balerics also have a Tourist tax.
No big deal.
No big deal. Now your talking Ludwig :-)
