I know it was yesterday, but I was busy then, but having worked in cotton mills for a number of years, you become something of a lip reader. I thought that Corbyn clearly said "Stubborn woman".

looked like 'stupid woman' to me, now he's denying he said that which makes him a liar as well in my book
Seems a big fuss over nothing to me. I can't stand the odious man but even if he did say stupid woman it's really no big deal.
Had he said that, then he would have claimed that. I didn't see enough lip movement to make out what the last bit was. Don't see how others could either. But if he thought she was being stupid muttering so is no big deal anyway. Some like to make mountains out of molehills.
I am just so happy to see more than one thread on this subject.

After all, it is world breaking news, for would be lip readers.

Heat too much?
Fire may not be a good place to hang out.
He definitely said 'stupid' rather than 'stubborn'. He claims he said 'stupid people'.
I couldn't say with 100% certainty.
In situations like this I always ask myself this.

If someone gave you a million quid and the only way you get to keep it is getting the question right...would you put it on

Stupid woman or Stupid people

I would go for 'stupid woman'

I do however think it has been blown up out of all proportion and IF he is lying, then that is the bigger issue.

Three lip readers said he definitely said "stupid Woman". Today's Mail front page headline is "read our lips Mr Corbyn: you're a liar". I don't think that they would lay themselves open to a lawsuit if they were not sure.

I would say he said stupid woman and all but the Corbynistas are saying Woman as well.

I do think it is one of those mental illusions. It could be either woman or people depending on how you want it to sound and by what you first were told it was.

//IF he is lying, then that is the bigger issue. //

Quite right.
It's time for an AB Mass Debate!

Surely no one will agree by the time it is done and dusted, (could take days, mind you)
When the item first aired I was sure he said 'Stupid people', and my husband laughed at me for sticking up for Corbyn as a left-winger. After more looks, I reluctantly agreed with the majority. As cassa333 said, what you see depends on what you knew beforehand - and whose side you're on.
It's a good job Captain Mainwaring and Private Pike are not MPs.
To my mind he said stupid woman, which is rude and uncalled for but not a hanging offence, the real issue is the fact that is is lying about it.
How will what Corbyn "allegedly" said affect the most important issue in most Ab'ers lives?

This is news!!!
It was mentioned briefly on my local news way down under in the middle of nowhere, 30 minutes ago!

I guess that proves just how important it is ;-/
Spot on Rockrose!

//the real issue is the fact that is is lying about it//

No other politician has ever lied ;-/
//How will what Corbyn "allegedly" said affect the most important issue in most Ab'ers lives? //

It won't, but if he's lying it gives an indication of the mettle of the man.
Ozzy...calm down dear.
I am calm, thank you Talbot

//It won't, but if he's lying it gives an indication of the mettle of the man//

Would it make him any different to most politicians Naomi?

It flabbers my gasteds to read what are apparently "news items".

"He may of said, she may of heard", lip readers think they saw.
Oh dear, we are playing in the realm of world changing politics ;-)

I can't see why this has raised your hackles, ozzy...you seem to make light or 'real' news stories anyway.
