I'd sort of agree, Gromit, but in this parliament, "second-rate" is a compliment; most ministers barely qualify as third-raters.
I can't help recalling the fate of the original Social Democratic Party (or the Gang of Four as they were often known), David Owen, Shirley Williams, Bill Rodgers, Roy Jenkins.

Absorbed by the Liberal Party, eventually to become the ineffectual Lib_Dems.
I think it took Mr Ummuna six periods of 7 and a half minutes to make his decision...
Jno,
Both the Cabinet and the Shadow Cabinet have been frozen out by their leaders, who prefer to rule by diktak rather than by consensus. A very broken system, which needs resetting, but IG are not going to do that.
Corbyn has his own little band of stormtroopers supporting him. May has one as well but they're opposing her. It's like the break-up of Iraq, with gangs of gunmen forming. But I agree, I don't think IG will be enough to change the system.

Not forgetting the tallboy Jacob Rees-Mogg...
They've chuka'd their toys out of the pram ...
Ellipsis, is Corbyn rattled though? :-)
