No, Nick Griffin talked about them in 2003. He was filmed by an undercover BBC reporter.
He gave his film to the police.
The police took him to court.
The court told Griffin that if he ever mentioned Muslim grooming gangs again he'd go straight to prison for a long time.

The comment was not that he jumped on a bandwagon to expose wrongdoing, but that he was aware that wrongdoing had been exposed and was then willing to jeopardise the trial to ensure his name became linked to good work done by others.

For reference, he was not the first to step on the moon, has not won a Nobel prize, and did not score a hat trick for England in 1966.
