I am saying nothing at this stage - I think the report, and the result of the case, says it all.

An 'anonymous' drunk but known to the Police Sergeant! Why wasn't he oiked up in the witness box to assist the police case? They had no problem tracking down Tommy Robinson did they? I know very little of civil law but it would seem ,as in a Coroners Court, that heresay is permitted in the case of TR.
I didn’t know I’d been asked a question about Ezra. When was that?

As for the video by a Canadian with an axe to grind - and who can’t pronounce Peterborough (see I did watch it.....well, part of it) it merely supports my assertion that Robinson’s lifestyle should lead him to expect such interventions. As I said earlier, live by the sword.....
//Let’s keep it real, eh retro. Any idea of the statistical probability of that happening?//

You have no problem ,apparently, of it happening to TR.

//Terrible business that someone with a criminal record, right wing past, named after a football hooligan can’t go about their daily business unhindered.//
//Any idea of the statistical probability of that happening? //

Haha I thought Harry Hill had popped in. What are the chances of that happening? :))

Any idea why the judge was of a mind to make the peevish remark? Perhaps looking for a reaction from TR and the opportunity to make a contempt of court rap stick. Instead he bit his lip and left us all the opportunity to do it instead. I am certainly taking the chance.

Not that long ago at 1304. Last sentence
//An 'anonymous' drunk but known to the Police Sergeant//

Had to be known by someone of at least the rank of Inspector, or above Retro, to get the section order. Perhaps the anonymous drunk was the local MP.
No I don’t, retro. I find it much more disturbing that people support Lennon despite his past. I’ve said it before.....he has a hidden agenda and despite leaving EDL, he’s far right and for me, that’s worth seeing the police bend some rules to suppress.
Perhaps his Chief Constable is a faceless wonder with a serious drink problem. :-)
Retro, I didn’t get as far as the judge dealing with the Canadian ‘journalist’. Could you précis it for me?
//that’s worth seeing the police bend some rules to suppress.//
Priceless. You state we are not heading towards a police state yet are happy for the police to bend rules. You wouldn't be happy if you were verballed up by the police and banged up to support a political witchhunt.
I would be most perturbed if I was expected to bend the rules and commit perjury. If that's the police you want then god help us.
Robinson was not some ordinary supporter taking his children on a day trip.

He is a convicted hooligan who was banned from attendin Luton Town matches. If the police spotted in with a group of known Luton Town troublemakers, it is reasonable for them to move him on.

// Robinson was convicted in 2011 of using "threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour" during a fight between supporters of Luton Town and Newport County in Luton the previous year. Robinson reportedly led the group of Luton fans, and played an integral part in starting a 100-man brawl. He was sentenced to a 12-month community rehabilitation order with 150 hours' unpaid work and a three-year ban from attending football matches. //

Good intelligence led police work, which the Judge recognised in her verdict.

// In his testimony, PC Steve Mason, a police football spotter from the Bedfordshire police force said that he had known Robinson in his police role as a football spotter for 14 years. He also said that Robinson was with two known risk supporters that evening. //
I think you’re being a little dramatic there, retro.

How suppressing a far right trouble causer is the beginning of a police state is far fetched in the extreme.
No I didn't think for one minute you really watched the pertinent bits. You just commented on the preamble where he couldn't, as a Canadian, pronounce Peterborough the way we do.
If you fast forward to the last 4 minutes of the link you will hear the way the judge suddenly came back to court and demanded to see the Press licences. When the Canadian stated they do not get licences issued to journalists in Canada that had to satisfy the judge so after tweeting that it looked like his own mouth is likely to land him in a dungeon he was further questioned by the judge and advised on contempt of court law. Bearing in mind there was absolutely no jury in this court that could of been influenced by these tweets. What was the judge scared of being reported?

Yes quite so and not causing a disturbance or contravening any Public Order offences.
Oiked out of the pub not so much as what he is likely to do (risk supporter) but who he is.
I really don’t have anything to say on the Canadian journalist sideshow. Save to say that if he was supporting Lennon and this caused him some inconvenience then I’m quite happy.

Here we have to disagree.
You may find bending the rules as legitimate suppression.
If it were to happen to you you might call it harassment and abuse of authority.

I think that what the Canadian journalist reported is very pertinent to the conduct of the judge and the manner in which this hearing was held.
We’re not discussing me tho who hasn’t had as much as a parking ticket in the last 50 years. We’re discussing Lennon who has form, is a known adgitator, and has far right tendancies. Stop trying to make it a wider issue.
I suspect the Judge was a little concerned with Ezra's behaviour since he approached a witness for the defence who felt intimidated. He then continued to tweet the proceedings which the Judge felt were intimidatory.
I am taking an adjournment. Been on this OP too long this morning. My son will be here any minute and we are going to watch yesterday's rugby matches. Been fun debating with you. Back later.
