At the McDonalds in a High Street near me just before Christmas there was a violent altercation between two gangs of delivery drivers. I actually witnessed the end of it when police had arrived to restore order. There were eight or ten people involved, scooters were knocked over and stamped upon and I saw at least one knife seized by police. All of those involved were shouting in foreign languages.
This is what has become of this country. This is part of the "growing and vibrant" economy we are told is enabling the country to thrive. You have people in low paid jobs preparing rubbishy food; you have others (many probably with no jobs) who cannot even be bothered to collect it, let alone prepare or cook it; finally you have gangs of people - predominantly of foreign extraction - delivering it to them. Quite a business model and one of which we can no doubt be proud.
