From your answer I can only presume that you are fairly young and have known no better.
Apart from the 6 years of WW2 this country has never experience the danger, crime and violence that we see today.
Enjoy your Easter Eggs while we are still allowed to call them 'Easter' Eggs and the chocolate's colour isn't changed in case we offend anyone.

A murder in the 1950s would have been talked about for weeks. Now knife and gun crime seem to be becoming such an everyday event that I think we are becoming immune to the seriousness of the situation .
For instance over the last few days just to mention a few crimes---Young boy shot at ,Journalist killed in Ireland, 13 years old boy knifed in the legs, 70 years old man in Wales shot with a crossbow is in critical condition .
What is our UK coming to? Has anyone got an answer?

Well, where I live in the UK it is very peaceful, birds singing rather loudly but then I suppose they always have done.
The Londonderry murder is very sad and worrying. My opinion, and it's not worth much because I am not sufficiently knowledgeable to have a view on such matters, is that there are probably weapons available to those that want them, left over from more troubled times. The police are on the case.
On the 'Anarchy on the streets of London', this is planned for I believe, up to two weeks. I feel that people might benefit from viewing Sir David Attenborough's TV film on climate change [available on BBC iplayer] to see what motivates the demonstrators.
The 'anarchy' that would ensue from run away climate change is hard to contemplate.

probably. but I wonder what motivates the demonstrators to leave behind them a sea of discarded plastic bags, single use plastic bottles, coffee cups and other trash in flagrant contradiction of their alleged concern for the environment?
