From a diplomatic perspective DT should be offered due deference and honours due to a serving President of one of the worlds superpowers. It would behove our discordant nation to unite for such an important visit.
Public squabbling just confirms to the world our disunity.
Corbyn is a ***

He's not our President, so why all the fuss?
He's turning up for a State Visit for a few days then he will be gone.
Why all the grumbling, some people just need to get a life.
There is not enough time to teach Corbyn which item of cutlery to use with each course. Her Majesty ,apparently got a telephone warning that the last trot who ws a guest at the Elysse Palace waltzed off with
the silverware.
We show respect to the office that our guest represents and those who disrespect and embarrass our monarchy can .... off.
Why do you want send three kisses to Mr Corbyn then Talbot ?.

//Worries in London mounted after French President Giscard d’Estaing telephoned the palace to warn them that the Ceausescus had behaved like “burglars” on their visit to Paris, and had stolen a number of items from the Elysée.

The French leader warned the Queen to remove any items from their rooms in London that could be removed or even unscrewed.

The Queen followed the advice carefully, among other things removing the eminently steal-able silver-backed hairbrushes from the Belgian Suite in the palace.//
I’m not sure if it’s a Left Wing trait or if it I more widespread but there seems to be a singular inability to differentiate between an individual and the office he or she represents. Mr Trump is the President of one of our oldest and closest allies. He was properly elected by the USA electorate and should be afforded the courtesy and respect his office warrants.

There are lots of politicians from other nations with whom I disagree. But when they come to the UK as a guest of HM Queen I would not dream of demonstrating against them in the streets. (In fact I would not dream of demonstrating against anything in the streets, but that’s another story).

I couldn't care less about your appaling grammar but What The Funicular you are babbling on about?

Talbot
He doesn't know his asterisk from his elbow. :-(
Corbyn will use any excuse to get out of something where he's expected to dress smartly. God I wish something would knock him off his perch.
Those named in the link who have declined the invitation have the right to do so, whatever I think.
I would usually agree with that, nj, but it is Trump's own unprofessional personal remarks. I think Corbyn is right to show some principles.
Well said, Pixie.

I feel sorry for the Queen having to be welcoming and polite to that odious man.
The Queen has had to be welcoming and polite to many odious men.
We don't though.
Pixie?
It is her job to grit her teeth and entertain him, but those "invited" do not have to accept and the public can protest if they like.
Nope...It's another

?
Ok, talbs, I am clearly making no sense... one more try... for the Queen and those whose actual job is to entertain these guests, there is not really a choice, it's a job. For everyone else, we can notice that Trump is a revolting individual, which he doesn't bother to hide, and decline to attend/ protest / complain. Delete as appropriate...
The main reason Donald Trump is coming here is to attend the 75th anniversary of D-Day ceremonies. We should remember all those thousands of American servicemen who lost their lives in World War 2.
The American people will be turning on their tv's and the last thing they will want to see , on such a serious occasion ,is their President being mocked and belittled by the actions of protesters.
Whatever anyone thinks about Donald Trump it doesn't cost anything to show some respect for the position he holds.
