I understand that Mail readers have a certain level of antipathy against the Duchess of Sussex - but with the news the she is about to have a baby...the Mail have decided to ban comments on the story.

Why would this be?

Can't find that in the link?
Hope everything goes well for her. Some people have been very anti-Meghan so it's probably something to do with that?
I agree danny. Just read the link right through again and find nothing that is alleged by the OP. Strange
Everyone knows it is a boy
There are comments at the bottom.
Yes, and getting more by the minute.
Have you seen the hate crap written about that woman
Do you mean here on AnswerBank
To a certain extent yes but also in the daily wail
they probably had to put the comments on hold until they could get some moderators in.
So spiteful. The Sun has always stirred the readers up. ( I'm not one..)

Thought she wasn't going to announce it. Hypocrite. Fame hungry

You would've thought that the news of the baby's birth would give people the opportunity to say something nice.

SP, unfortunately the world has its fair share of ignoramuses.
I can still comment on DM if I do wish.
on the other hand, this has the true whiff of the Mail reader

Well done to the surrogate, hope your life isn't in danger now the last thing they would want is for you to open your mouth. They should call it dimwit junior after its adoptive daddy wouldn't that be lovely
That is disgusting.
The comments on Mail Online are vile and always have been about Meghan, I simply can't understand it and many, many readers think she's having a surrogate! Weird lot.
