This is the doctor who ask a mother to lift her veil so he could hear clearly what she was telling him about her child's symptoms. I believe it is her husband who is complaining, not his wife.

The presence of a chaperone does remove the requirement for a woman to remain veiled in the presence of a man who isn't a member of her close family.

I won't sign the petition because I don't believe it has reached that stage, yet.
But, I do believe that there needs to be some sort of mechanism in place that ensures no doctor finds themselves in this position, again.
Making sure that this 'complaint' is kicked into the long grass would be a start.

Yes, he's been suspended even though as Pixie says
// nobody present at the appointment has apparently made any complaint \\.
Naomi I didn't know that ... // The presence of a chaperone does remove the requirement for a woman to remain veiled in the presence of a man who isn't a member of her close family. \\ So thank you for that information. In that case the patient should take a female friend or family member with her to appointments. It shouldn't be up to the NHS to provide for this.

So let’s see, the case is still being looked into (how can they reconsider firing him if they haven’t fired him??) but ABers are piling in to demand that the GMC reach the conclusion they desire, while knowing nothing more about the case than they’ve read in the Mail? Replete with the usual phrases like “could face...”
