I then linked to the story where The Telegraph ( hardly a left wing rag by the stretch of anyone's imagination) had posted a list of warning signs issued by the British Army about right wing extremist behaviour and how to spot it. Not MY accusation at all, if you care to read things properly, but the accusation of the British Army.

Apparently (I'm quoting from her tick boxes for Nazis article with one box being that "patriotism is now regarded as a possible warning sign of right-wing extremism in the army".

I wonder how you interpret ten, or is it a hundred thousand, Muslim males celebrating the end of Ramadan in a Birmingham park. Is this communal devotion? Or a military drill? Or a sign of "patriotism"? I rather think the last box might be ticked. Although not patriotism as we know it, Jim.

I could almost certainly be termed an “extremist” by some of these definitions:

I voted to leave the EU and I believe a “No Deal” Brexit would be infinitely the most preferable option. In my defence, I made a decision about thirty years ago that, given the chance, I would vote to leave. My decision was finalised in 1992 when the European Community became the EU. It had nothing to do with immigration or foreigners and the referendum campaigns had absolutely no influence upon me.

I believe the influx of huge number of followers of Islam has rendered large parts of the UK virtually unrecognisable as a western country (as evidenced by today's turnout in the park in Small Heath). I believe it is a pernicious religion and in particular its treatment of women has no place in the UK. I believe that the UK facilitates the continuation of what I see as this subjugation of women and its indulgence of the religion will lead to enormous problems in the not too distant future.

I don’t believe my views are “extreme” in any way. They are no more extreme than those of people happy to see the UK become simply a parish of the European Union instead of an independent sovereign nation. They are no more extreme than those of people who believe that Sharia and Beth Din Courts have any place in the UK when marriage and divorce matters need to be settled. They are simply different views on some important issues that face the country

Why have you linked what it says in the article to some ABers if you don't think there is a link?

I love the unintended irony Calicogirl, about not walking around with your eyes closed. A vast amount of people in this country are doing just that. How the song go? You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone....
